Privacy
The short version: this website has no ads, no third-party analytics, no trackers and no cookies. We count visits ourselves, anonymously, to learn what's useful. If you join the waitlist, we keep your email and your two answers so we can invite you, and nothing else.
This notice covers cookingrox.com, run by THINKING ROX LLC ("we"). The Cooking Rox app will have its own full privacy policy here before it launches on the App Store.
What we collect
Only if you join the waitlist:
- Your email address
- Your answers: whether you use an iPhone or Android, and whether you'd like to test the beta on TestFlight
- Where you signed up from, for example the home page's main button or a link we shared, so we know what's working
- The language of the page you signed up on, so we can write to you in it
- When you agreed to hear from us
We don't store your IP address, and we don't use cookies or third-party analytics on this site.
Visit statistics
To learn which pages and features help people, we count visits ourselves, on our own server at Cloudflare. Nothing is shared with an analytics company, and nothing can identify you or follow you to other sites.
- For every page request: the page and its language; the website that linked to it (its name only) and any campaign tags in the link; the country, region and city Cloudflare places the request in; the type of device; and the browser and operating system families (for example "Safari on iOS").
- While you're on a page: which buttons you tap, how long each section is on screen, how far you scroll, how long you actively spend, and what you try in the demos (the story, Jude's square, the questions, the language and theme switches).
- What we never record: your IP address, cookies, anything stored on your device to recognise you, fingerprints, or anything that links one visit to another. Each page view gets a random number that exists only while that page is open.
- Bots and automated visitors (search engines, AI assistants and the like) are welcome and never blocked. To tell them apart from people, we keep their full browser identification and network name.
- Opting out: if your browser sends Global Privacy Control, the in-page measurement is off. The page-request count still runs, because it holds nothing about you.
- Kept for: 13 months, then deleted automatically.
Why
- To send you a TestFlight invite if you asked for one. To do that we add your email to our beta in Apple's App Store Connect, and Apple sends the invite.
- To email you when Cooking Rox launches, and when the Android version is ready if you use Android.
That's all. We never sell or share your email for marketing, and we don't send newsletters you didn't ask for.
Who helps us
- Cloudflare hosts this site and stores the waitlist and the visit statistics. Its Turnstile check on the form tells people from bots, usually without a puzzle. Cloudflare uses what it sees in that check only to spot bots. It loads only when you scroll to the form.
- Apple receives your email only if you asked to test on TestFlight.
How long we keep it
Until the app launches and we've sent the launch email, and no longer than 12 months after that. Ask, and we delete it sooner.
Your choices
Want to see, change or delete your waitlist entry? Email privacy@thinkingrox.com from the address you signed up with and we'll sort it out within a few days. Every email we send also says how to stop hearing from us.
Children
This site and the waitlist aren't for children under 13 (16 in the EU and the UK).
